James D. Doster, Inc. is currently looking for laborers, pipe layers, and heavy equipment operators to join our team in the Gaston County area on one of our outdoor constriction crews. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with a great team on exciting projects that truly make an impact to our ever growing community. The ideal candidate will have experience digging trenches, laying and connecting pipe for water, sewer, and storm, however experience is not required for a laborer position. Laborers

James D. Doster, Inc. provides entry level laborer positions on many of our crews. No experience is needed, but is preferred to work at our outdoor construction company. We provide on the job training to help all laborers learn laborer and pipe laying duties. Must be 18 years or older and have reliable transportation to job sites.

Pipe Layers

James D. Doster, Inc. provides positions for people with pipe layer experience. Piper layers help with connecting pipes, uses various tools to measure the angle and depth of the pipe, and communicate to operators all while in a sloped trench. We train laborers to learn this skill over time but are happy to hire on staff who have prior training in this field.

Heavy Equipment Operators

James D. Doster, Inc. employs heavy equipment operators to help dig various depths and size trenches while communicating to pipe layers safely in the trench. Operators will operate different kinds of heavy equipment to complete other tasks needed to install pipe. A heavy equipment operator must pass an in person working interview test where they will show their skills of trench digging to a project manager.

CDL Drivers

James D. Doster, Inc. is looking for class A CDL drivers to do move heavy equipment of up to 132,000 pounds, drive a dump truck to haul debris and stone, and to use a tractor and flat bed to haul materials. All moves are local meaning you will go home each night unless there is a snow storm when over night may happen. Experience and an in person working interview is required. Drivers are required to strap and secure loads.
